Our visa to visit USA ended and we moved on, to be more precise we went to Lima in South America. Our flight from LA took us first to the airport in Ciudad de Mexico. We waited for few hours, bought small bottle of tequila and tried some fancy pastry named Pan de Muerto (we were there just in time for Haloween). Sadly we didn’t have enough time to get out of the airport. Anyway, our connecting flight was ready and we hopped on, all the way to Lima in Peru.
South America
El Chaltén and Laguna Torre
After lazy day and short trip to waterfalls we planned another big hike. Our destination was Laguna Torre. As before, we expected beautiful views but this time, there should be a glacier present at the lake as well.
From Puerto Natales to Rio Gallegos
A waving hand and fancy cardboard sign in Puerto Natales. It ended with little bit of blood, scraped head and huge milanesa in Rio Gallegos. What an adventure.
El Chaltén and first cold morning
Our bus from Perito Moreno arrived to El Chaltén bus terminal at 6:30 in the morning. Common procedure started, pack your stuff, get out of the bus and wait for your backpack. That was pretty much the moment when we realized two things, good one - it is beautiful here, bad one - it is freaking cold.
San Carlos de Bariloche
It was beautiful sunny day and our last big hike in Argentina. After long walk we finally got all the way up to refugio Frey near San Carlos de Bariloche. Even though it was sunny, wind was very cold and we were freezing. Maybe it was caused by cold waters in nearby laguna Toncek.
Arica – pastry heaven
Few days in Arica turned out to be better than we expected. Ocean views, city walks, reasonable prices and amazing pastry. All in one small Chilean town.
